Holy Spirit, come and dwell in us, and remind us of what Jesus has said to us. When we are in a kind of fog, bring to mind the Words that God wants to say to us today. Quench our thirst and fulfil our desires.

Christ Jesus, during your life you experienced being rejected and refused. And yet, faced with those who persecuted you, you continued to love right through to the end. Risen from the dead, you show us God’s infinite compassion and forgiveness, and you open up paths forward where every way ahead seemed to be blocked. Renew our hope!

We praise you, God of love, for the testimony of John the Baptist. Like him, we want to point out the way towards Jesus, your Son, who shows us your face. May the Holy Spirit change our hearts so that we may be able to reflect his presence by our lives.
