The welcome will be closed from the morning of 24 December 2024 until Sunday, 2 February 2025 because of the European meeting in Tallinn and for a time of preparation for the welcome in 2025. No one is welcomed during this time. The welcome will reopen on Sunday, 2 February from 3pm onwards.
Youth meetings
▪ Young people aged 18 to 35: can come any week of the year between 2 February and 24 December. Note: One week this year, 24-31 August, is reserved for 18-35 year-olds only.
▪ Young people from 15 to 17: can come any week between 2 February and 24 December except 24-31 August.
The meetings run from Sunday afternoon to Sunday midday. Exceptions to the “Sunday rule” are the weeks either side of Easter, when Easter Monday serves as departure and arrival day. In 2025, this means:
- ▪ Holy Week: Sunday 13/04 - Monday 21/04
- ▪ Easter Week: Monday 21/04 - Sunday 27/04.
Young adults can also arrive on Saturday evening if they are staying for the following week. In this case, they will be asked to help welcome those who arrive the following day.
A weekend stay from Thursday or Friday until Sunday is also possible, but it really is better to stay the full week. A stay from Saturday morning to Sunday is too short to enter into the rhythm of life in Taizé.
Meetings for adults
In 2025, we can receive adults over 35 years old from Sunday 6/04 until Sunday 19/10, except for the week of 24-31/08.
We ask adults who are over 35, who are able to do so, to avoid busier periods of the year: Holy Week, Easter Week, Ascension week (25 May - 1 June) and from mid-July to August 24. The following times are less busy: 6/04 to 13/04, 27/04 to 24/05, 1/06 to 13/07, and 31/08 to 19/10.
The meetings last a week, from Sunday afternoon to Sunday midday.
(A weekend stay from Thursday or Friday until Sunday is also possible, but it really is better to stay the full week. A stay from Saturday morning to Sunday is too short to enter into the rhythm of life in Taizé.)
Please make sure to read the page Meetings for adults over 35 carefully before planning your stay.
Meetings for families with children
During certain weeks in 2025, there will be meetings for parents with children under 15 years old. You may register from 3 February 2025 onwards.
N.B. There is an important change! From now on the welcome day for the family meetings at Olinda will be on Monday beginning at 3pm. The program will take place from Monday to the following Sunday, and not from Sunday to Sunday like the meetings for young people and adults at Taizé. This change will enable us to offer a better welcome to all the families.
In 2025, the meetings will be held during these weeks:
- ▪ Monday 21/04 to Sunday 27/04
- ▪ Monday 9/06 to Sunday 15/06
- ▪ Every week between Monday 30/06 and Sunday 24/08
In the periods outside these weeks –from 28/04 to 29/06, and from 31/08 to 19/10– we can welcome a small number of families for half a week. These families take part in the adults meetings and we suggest that you come for three nights, either from Sunday to Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday. Please contact us three to six weeks in advance to see if we can welcome you.
Please read the page Meetings for families carefully before making further plans.
