Christ Jesus, you show us the face of God and his mercy plainly. If we are still far off, he waits for us, and when our heart turns to God again, whatever our motivation is, his joy welcomes us. A communion that we had never hoped for is rekindled, and from deep within us a voice rises up: "God of compassion, you have brought me back to life; may I live from your love!"
