ASCENSION Risen Christ, on this day you sent out your friends to announce the good news of your love to all creation. Today too you send us out to share what we have understood of you with the people you entrust to us, and to do so above all by our lives. And when we do not know any more what to do, your Holy Spirit whispers in our hearts: "I am with you every day until the end of time."

Often we ask you, living God: What is it that you want for me? And you reply: Listen to what Jesus says to you. He is the one I have sent; he has the words that give life. Whoever hears him hears me.

Jesus, the Christ sent by God, we are thirsty for your presence. You open for us a spring of living water, a free gift that never dries up. We would like always to go to that spring: it is peace; it is gentleness; it transforms our lives.
