Preserve me, God, I take refuge in you.
I say to you Lord: “You are my God.
My happiness lies in you alone.”

O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup,
it is you yourself who are my prize.
The lot marked out for me is my delight,
welcome indeed is the heritage that falls to me!

I will bless you, Lord, you give me counsel,
and even at night direct my heart.
I keep you, Lord, ever in my sight;
since you are at my right hand, I shall stand firm.

And so my heart rejoices, my soul is glad;
even my body shall rest in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead,
nor let your beloved know decay.

You will show me the path of life,
the fullness of joy in your presence,
at your right hand happiness for ever.

Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (...) You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

O Christ, you sent the Holy Spirit received from the Father upon your disciples: lead us by that same Spirit.

O Christ, you send us to proclaim your forgiveness: reveal your love to every human being.

O Christ, you promised that the Spirit would teach us all things: enlighten our faith.

O Christ, you promised us the Spirit of peace: renew the earth by your peace.

O Christ, you promised to send the Spirit of truth: enable us to know your love which is beyond all knowledge.

O Christ, your Spirit fills the universe, dwelling within each of us.

Our Father

Prayer

Savior of every life, in following you we choose to love and never to harden our hearts. You wish us to know a Gospel joy. And when the depths of our being are covered by a dark cloud, one way forward remains open, the way of serene trust.
